Kenneth George Samuel Roberts

1931 - 2011
In his 80th year Ken passed away peacefully at the Palliative Care Unit of the Prince Edward Home on Monday, November 7, 2011 with his wife and sons by his side, after a short but courageous battle with cancer.

A Korean War veteran, Ken resided with his wife Christina (Gallant) Turbide in Cornwall and at their summer residence in Mermaid.

He is survived by his wife, Chris, and sons, Derrick (Carole), Dollard Des Ormeaux, QC, Neil (Marlene) Verdun, QC, Randy (Ginette), Ste. Anne des Plaines, QC, Richard (Tracey), Brampton, ON, Samuel, Waterdown, ON, Michael (Jennifer), Wynndel, BC, Shawn, Montreal, QC, 13 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Predeceased by his parents, Flora (Minchinton) and Samuel William Roberts and son, Kevin; brothers, Milton, Burton, Arthur, Lindsey; sisters, Ophelia, Gladys, Susanne, Vina and Bertha; his first wife and mother of his sons, Iris Langlois; and second wife, Norma MacDonnell.

No visitation or funeral by personal request, cremation has been entrusted to Hillsboro Funeral Home, Stratford.

George Edward II Robinson

1924 - 2009
George Edward Robinson II, 84 years of age, of Covehead and formerly of Robinsons Island, stepped into the presence of his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ on May 31, 2009 at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Charlottetown.

Loving husband of Irene Joyce (nee Neat). Dedicated father of George Edward III, Eric Paul (Pattie), Stephen Mark (Sharon), Susan Joy (Sidney Newell) and Kevin Shawn (Sherry). Grandfather to twelve grandchildren and great-grandfather to seventeen great-grandchildren. Brother of Lillian Stewart (late Waldo), Verna Younker (Omar), Dorothy MacLeod (Harold), Virden (late Eva MacDonald) and Gerald (Eleanor). Predeceased by his brother William Earl and his parents George Edward I and Bertha Mae (nee Vessey).

Resting at Belvedere Funeral Home from where the funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Saturday, at 11 am. Interment in West Covehead Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday from 7-9 pm. If so desired, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Kidney Foundation of PEI would be appreciated.

Royal Canadian Legion Branch #1 Charlottetown will conduct a Veteran's Tribute Service at the funeral home at 6:45PM on Friday 5 June 2009.

William J. (Bill) Rooth

1923 - 2010
It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of a beloved husband, father and grandad at the P.E.I. Atlantic Baptist Home on Wednesday, December 1, 2010 after a lengthy illness at the age of 87 years. 

Beloved husband of Glenn (nee Smith) and father of Carl Rooth and Cynthia (Cindy) Riley. Father-in-law of Jan Rooth and Brian Riley. Cherished grandad of Michelle, Korey, Sherry, Mitchell and Cody. Great grandad to Tye, Kylie, Kaitlyn, Keeshon and Taymon. Brother of Gwen Logie and uncle to many nieces and nephews. Bill was a Bell Canada Pioneer and a veteran of WWII. 

Bill is resting at the Hennessey Funeral Home from where the funeral service will be held on Monday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Charlottetown. 

Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Sunday from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. 

Family flowers only. Memorial donations to the P.E.I. Atlantic Baptist Nursing Home or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.

ROSE, Daniel James "Danny" Peacefully with his family by his side at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Friday, October 11, 2019 of Daniel James "Danny" Rose of Charlottetown age 70 years. Beloved husband of Debby (nee Smith). Loving father to Dawn(Derrick) Simpson of Coronation, Ont., Kent (Lisa) Steele of Bunbury, Jennifer Steele of Charlottetown and Christopher (deceased). Grandfather of Daniel Steele (Becky), Mark Steele (Tiana), Derrick Simpson (Dani), Glen Steele (Jessica), April Steele (Brandon McCarron), Haley Steele (James), Jenna Steele (Jamie), Jessica (Jess Beamish), Eva Dawn Steele and great grandfather to eleven great grandchildren. Brother of John P. (deceased) (Jean), Bill (Marlene Clark deceased), Margaret (Bob) Huskins, Gary, David (deceased) (Susan), Tom (Florence), Eric (Erma), Kenny (deceased), Donald, Larry, Mary (deceased) and Rhonda (Mike) Redmond. Brother-in-law of Janet (Gary) MacDonald, Lynn Gilbert, Nancy Gilbert (Mark Cain), Glen Gilbert (Maureen) and Mark Gilbert (Heather). Danny is also fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by his father John S. Rose in 1986 and his mother Ruby Rose in 2018. Resting at the Hennessey Cutcliffe Charlottetown Funeral Home until Wednesday, October 16th , then transferred to the Church of the Most Holy Redeemer for funeral mass at 10:00 a.m. Interment in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, October 15th from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. Due to allergies please refrain from wearing scents and perfumes. Thomas Edward Ross

1925 - 2010
A beloved father, husband, grandfather and proud soldier has returned home. The death occurred peacefully on Monday, September 27, 2010 at the Dr. John M. Gillis Memorial Lodge in Eldon of Thomas Edward Ross CD formerly of Mermaid age 85 years. Thomas was born in Riverside, Guysborough County, N.S. and is survived by his children Teresa (Doug) Morton, Jim (Nicolette), Anita Cassell, Linda Ritchie, and his grandchildren Jon, Cole, Danielle, Sam and Jessie. He was predeceased by his wife of 60 years Marcella McDonald. Also left to honor his memory are his siblings Frances Luddington and Charles Ross as well as sister-in-law Elizabeth Butler and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Resting at the Hennessey Funeral Home. Private visitation by personal request. Interment will take place at Sacred Heart Church Cemetery, Mt. Ryan. Branch #1 of the Royal Canadian Legion will hold a veterans tribute service at the funeral home on Wednesday at 6:45 p.m.

RUTTAN, Charles “Eddie” Peacefully at the Prince Edward Home on Sunday, December 8, 2019 of Charles “Eddie” Ruttan of Charlottetown, age 61 years. Son of the late Clarence and Annie Mae (MacLennan) Ruttan. Survived by his step-mother Marilyn Ruttan of Bridgewater, N.S., step-brother Terry Conrad of Lunenburg, N.S. and step-sister Patricia Skidgmore of Mississauga, ON. Predeceased by his sister Anna Marie and infant brother Clarence Jr. Eddie was a faithful member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 1 in Charlottetown. He enjoyed darts, bowling and bingo. Resting at MacLean Funeral Home Swan Chapel from where the funeral will be held on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. Interment in the Roman Catholic Cemetery. Loving father of Heather Scott, Valerie Ferrish (Brian) and Grant Scott; son-in-law Nelson Robertson and grandchildren - Madison (Justin Lank), Graeme and Keighan Scott, Jayde Ferrish, Blake Ferrish (Brittany Fullerton), Nathan Ferrish (Whitney Simmons), Caleigh Robertson, Alex Robertson (Cara Drover), and 9 great-grandchildren. Donald was predeceased by his wife - Esther Scott (nee Reid); daughter - Janice Marie Robertson and parents - John and Mary Anne (MacDonald) Scott. The death occurred at the Atlantic Baptist Nursing Home on Thursday, September 6, 2012 of George Shelfoon of Charlottetown and Stanhope, age 87 years. Veteran of Second World War (Royal Regiment of Canada).
Beloved husband of Janey and dear father of Peggy Ann (Allan) Tupper. Grandfather to Joshua and Adam. Survived by sister, Margaret Hutchings, and special nephew, Richard Baldwin.
Resting at MacLean Funeral Home Swan Chapel from where the service will be held on Tuesday at 2 p.m. Interment in Stanhope Eastern Road Cemetery.

Newman J. Sigsworth

1918 - 2015
Peacefully at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Monday, December 7, 2015 of Newman J. Sigsworth of Whisperwood Villa, Charlottetown formerly of Borden Carleton, Veteran of the Second World War, Hard Hat Mark V Diver, Air Sea Rescue, age 97 years.

Beloved husband of Rita (nee MacLean) Sigsworth and dear father of Wilma, Arlene (David) Lipton, Anita (Ken) Kelly, Cathy (Wayne) Young, Keith (Alma), Bill (Debbie), Frank (Val) and Denise (deceased). Proud Granddad of Sonya Lipton (Matt MacCallum), Taylor Lipton, Jade Flemming (Tony), Ryan Kelly(Jennifer), Rachelle Kelly(Cory Jay), Jean-Marc Paille, Patrick Sigsworth, Kyle Sigsworth, Lindsey Sigsworth, Dylan Sigsworth, Britanny Ollerenshaw (Ian), Kalem Sigsworth and Great Granddad of Bates Ling, Levi Jay, Luca MacCallum, Violet MacCallum, Payton Anna Kelly and Cate Kelly. Newman was the last surviving member of his family, being predeceased by his parents Capt. William J. and Catherine (Walker), Sigsworth, brothers Michael Sigsworth, Dr. Pius Sigsworth and sisters Hester Kenny, Jean Nyberg and Genevieve Gemski.

Resting at the Hennessey Cutcliffe Charlottetown Funeral Home until Friday morning, then transferred to the Church of the Most Holy Redeemer for funeral mass at 10:00 a.m.

Interment will follow in the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Charlottetown. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Charlottetown Branch #1 of the Royal Canadian Legion will hold a Veterans Tribute Service at the funeral home on Thursday at 3:45 p.m.

John William Skinner

The death occurred peacefully at Beach Grove Home on Saturday, November 10, 2012 of John William Skinner of Charlottetown, age 85 years. Beloved husband of Joyce (MacLauchlan). Loving father of Florence Skinner (Hubert Sock MacDonald), Janice (Dave) McAlduff, Rebecca (Ernie) Doiron, Ruth Skinner (James Johnson) and Andrew (Kelli). Loving grandfather of Samantha and Jillian Sullivan, Chris, Sara and Jason McAlduff and Andrew and Liam Doiron. Brother of Janet Skinner and brother-in-law of Shirley Skinner, Verna MacLauchlan, Les (Winnifred) MacLauchlan, Joyce MacLauchlan, Marjorie MacLauchlan, Wanda Mallett and Marguerite Ellis. Predeceased by his parents Rev. John R. and Margaret (MacDonald) Skinner; brothers Alexander and Maxwell, sisters-in-law Margaret and Lorraine Skinner, Edith MacCallum and Beth Ellis; brothers-in-law Walter, Malcolm, Gideon, Alvin and Harry MacLauchlan.
